Frequently asked questions on infrared touch screens

  • Double clicks do not respond well. The solution: Open the infrared adjustment program to adjust it and lower down the dB.

Frequently asked questions on surface acoustic wave touch screens

Inaccurate touch of surface acoustic wave touch screen
¡¤ Please run the correction and adjustment program for touch screens. (Start-setup-control panel-icon of acoustic wave screen-button for Caliberate)
¡¤ If it is a newly bought touch screen, please try to delete the setup and then switch off the computer. Re-install the setup in five seconds.
¡¤ If this measure does not work, it might be possible that the reflection fringes were slightly damaged during the transportation and cannot be completely restored. You can do the positioning in the counter direction (as against the direction that the mouse is off the center point).
¡¤ If the touch screen is not accurate after being used for a period of time, it is possible that the reflection fringes on the four sides of the screen or the transducers are covered by dust. If you use the KA cabinet of our company, you can use a piece of dry cloth to clean the surface with industrial alcohol or glass detergent, and then restart the system. Pay attention not to damage the upper left, upper right and down right transducers. If is another type of cabinet, please contact our company's technology department.
¡¤ If there are water drops or other sticky things on the touch screen, the screen may misjudge the touches, which may cause the in accuracy of the screen. Please just remove the water drops or greasy things.

The surface acoustic wave screen cannot be adjusted
¡¤ If you use a Lenovo computer, and its pre-installed MOUSEWARE conflicts with the setup program of the touch screen, please delete this software, re-start and run the adjustment program.
¡¤ It is possible that the touch screen receives the operating signal before the computer starts the setup program for the touch screen, please switch off the machine, re-start it and readjust it.
¡¤ It is possible that the setup program for the touch screen has not been properly installed. Please delete this program and re-install it. (Delete from the control panel)
¡¤ It is possible that the reflection fringes on the four sides of the acoustic wave screen, after being used for a period of time, are covered by lots of dust, which leads to a failure to adjust. ¡¤ It is possible that the one of the lines linked with the touch screen - the one linking the keyboard (taking 5v working voltage from the keyboard port) - is not linked. Please check this line.
¡¤ It is possible that in the course of touch screen setup program; the serial port number selected is not corresponding to the actual number of the linking serial port. Please unload it and re-install it.
¡¤ It is possible that the compute is domestically made, and adopts the OEM edition operating system. It has been adjusted by the factory, causing the non-substandardness of serial port communication and the incompatibility with the setup program of the touchscreen. If possible, please format the hard disk and start the screen after installing the new setup program.
¡¤ It is possible that the setup program is of too low an edition, please install the latest setup program for the touch screen.

Frequently asked questions about analog resistive touch screen

The mouse of the screen can only move in a small area or the touch is not accurate
¡¤ It usually appears when the setup program is first started. Please run the adjustment program. After the resolution of the touch screen is changed, the adjustment program must also be run (Start-program)

The mouse always stays at a certain point of the four sides of the monitor
¡¤ It is because the touch area (The surface is divided into touch area and non-touch area. You will get no response if you hit the non-touch area), is pressed by the casing of the screen or the cabinet, which means that a certain point has always been touched. If the casing of the cabinet presses the touch area, you can adjust the gap between the cabinet and the screen. If the casing of the screen presses the touch area, you can try to loosen the screw of the casing. If it still does not work, please contact the technology department of our company.

The direction in which the mouse goes is opposite the direction that the hand touches.
¡¤ This is because the control box of the touch screen and four lines linked with the touch screen are connected mistakenly. Please adjust the direction.

No response to the touch
¡¤ Check whether the lines are properly connected with the touch screen, and whether a line linking the keyboard port of the computer (taking 5v working voltage from the keyboard port) is linked or not.
¡¤ Check the lamp of the control box. If it is not on, or the red light is on, it indicates that the control box breaks down. You need to have it replaced.
¡¤ If the circumstances are other than the above mentioned, please delete the setup program, re-start the computer and install a new setup program. Or install a higher edition setup program.
¡¤ Check whether any equipment conflicts with serial port resources. Check hardware and make adjustment. For instance, some of the installed net cards have their IRQ defaulted as 3, which is in conflict with IRQ of COM2. So the IRQ of the net card is changed to an unused IRQ. It is possible that the main board of the computer is not compatible with the control box of the touch screen. Please change a computer or a main board.

Frequently asked questions about capacitive touch screens

Inaccurate touches on capacitive screens
¡¤ You need to run the screen adjustment program under the following circumstances (Start-program-Microtouch Touchware)

  • After finishing the installation of first setup program;
  • After changing the resolution and display mode;
  • After changing the display area;
  • After adjusting the frequency o the controller
  • When the cursor cannot correspond with the touch point;

¡¤ After the adjustment is made, the data after adjustment is stored in the reservoir of the controller. So there is no need to adjustment screen after each start.

Touch cannot be made on a certain point of the screen
¡¤ If the touch screen is used for a fairly long time (usually 5-10 years), the ITO coating of the screen is likely to be damaged. New touch screen is needed.
¡¤ If it is a newly installed touch screen, the ITO coating might have been scratched by ITO coating. Then a new touch screen is needed.

No response to the touch on capacitive touch screen
¡¤ Check whether the lines to the touch screen is properly linked. If it is a control card for exterior hardware box, the box is directly linked with the cable extending from the touch screen through U-slot. Through a keyboard converter, link one end with the computer's keyboard port and the other end with the keyboard (You must first cut open the rubber cover at the tip of the serial RS232 before connecting the wire); put the 5v power source into the connecting part of serial 232 and put the serial RS232 connector from the control box into the 9-pin socket of the computer. If your computer uses a 25-pin socket, please use a 9-25 converter for conversion. If your computer's keyboard port is a small port from the imported computer, please buy a converter for the conversion from a large keyboard to a small keyboard.
¡¤ If it is an in-laid card, check whether the jump is correct. As the equipment of different customers are different, their peripherals are different.
